How do I reset my password?

If you know your password and would like to change it, you can do so at anytime here!

Forgot your password? No problem – there’s a few ways you can reset it ?

If you have a verified phone number or email associated with your account you can reset your password from the Snapchat Log In screen. You can also reset your password via email here.

To reset your password via Email from the Snapchat Log In screen:

  1. Tap ‘Forgot your password?
  2. Then select how you would like to reset your password – via email.
  3. You should receive a password reset link via email to the email address associated with your account.
  4. Click the URL – if you cannot click the URL, please copy and paste the URL into your browser.
  5. Lastly, enter your new desired password!

To reset your password via SMS from the Snapchat Log In screen:

  1. Tap ‘Forgot your password?
  2. Then select how you would like to reset your password – via SMS.
  3. A verification code should be sent to the phone number associated with your account.
  4. Enter the verification code and select ‘Continue’.
  5. Lastly, enter your new desired password!

Pro Tip ?: Select a password that is at least 8 characters in length, that does not contain your name, username, phone number, birthday, or other personal information. It is best to include a mix of numbers, symbols and/or capital and lowercase letters in your new password

Also, if you have Login Verification enabled you may need your Verification or Recovery Code to log in.

For security reasons, we’re unable to reset a password for an account if:

  • The email address you are writing in from is not associated with the account.
  • You do not know the associated email address and/or phone number.
  • You do not have access to the email address and/or phone number linked to the account.

  1. I am having trouble resetting my password. I select the rest password option via email however it keeps sending a text message. My phone was stolen yesterday and I can only reset it by email.

  3. I have had a snapchat for quite a while, but I got a new phone and it wont let me in to reset my password, I get the code texted to me but then the screen just closed before I can choose a new pasword

  4. my sister face a problem with her account.. all of us keep our account loged in but her account just closed by it self .. she tried to open it again but it always give he a wrong password .. yhan she tried to change it than try again .. but still the same until now giving her a wrong password sign .. wish if you could give us a solution with this issue.
