Stories are a fun way to keep up with friends. Each Story is a compilation of Snaps that a friend has posted to their Story over the last 24 hours. Each Snap is a part of your Story for 24 hours (unless you delete it, of course!). You can view a Snapchatter’s Story as many times as you’d like before it is no longer available!
Follow the steps below to view a Snapchatter’s Story:
- Swipe left on the Camera screen to open the Stories screen.
- Tap a Snapchatter’s name to watch their Story!
Here are some tips for watching Stories:
- Tap to go to the next Snap!
- Tap the left side of the screen to go back to the last Snap.
- Swipe left to skip to the next Story.
- Swipe right to go back to the previous Story.
- To stop watching, just swipe down!
If you’d like to view your own Story:
- Swipe left on the Camera screen to open the Stories screen.
- Tap ‘My Story.’
What is the Story Timer?
- The outer ring of the circle represents how much time is left in the current Snap. The ring will disappear as you are viewing the Snap, indicating how much time you have left to view it! The inner circle represents how much time is left in the Story. The inner circle will disappear as you are viewing the Snaps in a Story, indicating how much time remains in the Story.
Pro Tip?: To send a Snap from a Story, simply press and hold on a Snap you’re watching, tap the Send arrow button, and select other Snapchatters to send that Snap to! Note, privacy settings for who can view your Story still apply!
